Organizing your Kitchen Cabinets
I have to admit here I didn’t realize how big a job this was until I started writing this article. I have always had, basically, no cabinet space so I bought pots and pans that nested together and stored them in my oven with my lone baking sheet and casserole dish. When the oven was on, I moved them onto a stool. My food was all stored in my fridge and the counter top held my one and only appliance: a blender. (Yes, I lived sans microwave and felt pretty virtuous about it.) Everything else - those random odds and ends I stored hanging from a grid kitchen organizer I bought at IKEA.
This worked for me when I was a busy New Yorker who rarely ate at home. Now covering the home-making beat, cooking three meals a day and having moved to the ‘burbs, I realize how much of a challenge getting your cabinet into shape really is.
Take a look at this 5-step guide, and let me know what you think of the “zone” plan.
